Matilde is a company that was launched by the legendary Blender José Seijas, but was actually originally founded in 1876 in Santiago de Los Caballeros by Simeon Mencia. José Seijas, who is probably best known for his time with Tabacalera de Garcia, would retire 2012, but soon became bored, so already at the end of 2013 he returned with his own company - Matilde cigars!
